Your Role:


You will provide commercial support for MilliporeSigma’s Viral Vector technology and services by advancing our out-licensing activities. You will be responsible for assessing the market landscape, target customers seeking to streamline their Cell and Gene Therapy therapeutic programs, and drive complex out-licensing activities throughout the adaption lifecycle of the therapeutic program.


The successful candidate will drive Business Development activities and build client relationships:


  • Engage with new and existing customers to enable their continued success in Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing by establishing the VirusExpress™ as the preferred enabling technology
  • Play a lead role in building out the customer pipeline through proactive customer engagement, attendance of and technical customer discussions at conferences (lead generation)
  • Drive to close license negotiations for VirusExpress viral vector cell line and related licenses throughout the technical sales cycle
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, and feed back to the wider commercial team about customers’ applications and product needs in recurring team meetings
  • Support the wider MilliporeSigma commercial team to support sales and cross-sales activities including being the main point of contact for VirusExpress™ inquiries, training of the technical sales team, and supporting technical and commercial negotiations
  • Global and domestic travel up to 50%
  • Ability to work remote


You are an expert collaborator, technically versed in viral vector manufacturing enabling technologies with a proven sales drive, adept at work in a multi-cultural environment with the capability of managing diversity. You are a dedicated negotiator in maximizing the long-term value for our business and closing discussions with customers. You are also action oriented with a high-level drive for results and perseverance, acting in professional and positive manner always. You work independently, by being strongly goal oriented and self-motivated. You have superior communication and presentation skills which are used to convince and inspire internal and external partners to get their buy in and commitment.


Who You Are:  


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences including Virology, Cell biology, or Genetics with 5+ years’ Sales experience - OR –
  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences including Virology, Cell biology, or Genetics with 3+ years’ Sales experience
  • 1+ years Viral Vector manufacturing experience (sales and/or technical)
  • 1+ years in Cell and Gene Therapy, Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical company
  • Up to 50% travel
  • Ability to work Remote


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Science, Legal or Business (MBA, PhD)
  • Experience is a strategic and commercial role with Cell and Gene therapy and/or Pharmaceutical with a business track emphasis
  • 1+ years of experience with Licensing within Pharma or Biotech
  • 1+ years of experience of drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Experience successfully working in a cross functional team
