WARF helps steward the cycle of research, discovery, commercialization and investment for the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Founded in 1925, WARF is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to investing in research and making a difference—for the researcher, the university, commercialization partners and the world. WARF’s mission is to promote, encourage and aid scientific research by patenting and licensing university inventions, playing an active role in UW–Madison spinoff companies, and managing an endowment to support the cycle of research, discovery, commercialization and investment. The Opportunity

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) seeks a detail-oriented and stakeholder focused individual to provide administrative support to our Intellectual Property team. The Intellectual Property Coordinator will maintain files, coordinate meetings, process documentation, and update database records related to invention disclosures, patent filing and prosecution. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team that supports the interaction with UW-Madison inventors and their groundbreaking inventions.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, as well as communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders within a team environment. Ideal candidates will possess an associate’s degree and/or equivalent work experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of office experience including working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and familiarity with databases is strongly preferred.
