Description

You are what Illumina is looking for. In your future role at the Wisconsin site of the global leader in genetic sequencing, you will be one of a group of scientists who produce the fuel for Illumina’s sequencing and array-based solutions for analysis of genetic variation and function, in realms from cancer research to agriculture. Working on diverse teams, you will lead or assist with projects, participate in tracking and managing timelines and deliverables, and collaborate with other teams to improve quality and efficiency. We’re looking for talent, genuine curiosity about applied science, commitment to creative problem solving, drive and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute projects related to QC processes and assays
  • Author and review technical and quality system related documentation (SOPs, Quality Plans, etc.)
  • Collaborate as part of a scientific team including active participation in team meetings and initiatives
  • Support and participate in development and validation of test methods for enzymes and reagents
  • Perform assays that measure enzyme activity, functionality, and impurities
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work on diverse teams and learn quickly
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to think critically
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Excellent lab, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and proactive
  • Motivated to proactively take ownership and rive tasks with limited guidance

Education/Experience

  • 3+ years of STEM related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years with a Master’s degree
  • Location: Madison, Wisconsin
